Description
Panasonic Genuine Inverter Type Magnetron 2M261-M32
Panasonic part number: 2M261-M32, supersedes all previous versions of the 2M261-M32 magnetron. This is a brand new magnetron sourced directly from Panasonic.
If you purchase this item for replacement in your microwave then we recommend that you do this only if you are qualified and aware of the dangers of tampering with electrical equipment.
Failure of this magnetron is common and can lead to a cooking cycle stopping fault after around 20 seconds. Often you may find that the ring magnet has cracked due to overheating. If this is the case then the magnetron must be replaced. also check the rear vent for clogging as the airflow must be uninterrupted.

Ovens that use this type of magnetron are generally up market models and are normally well worth repairing.
The 2M261-M32 is the inline version of the 2M261, ie the airflow is in the same direction as the mounting lugs.
Please check the configuration of your old magnetron before ordering. Aso check that your old magnetron has the part number 2M261-M32 printed on the label. any numbers and letters afterwards are not relevant.
An inverter microwave oven is one without a high voltage transformer You will know you have one as it is not extremely heavy at one end. This type of microwave uses a high power DC converter, called an inverter, to produce the high voltage and filament voltage required by the magnetron.
