Description

Scart Adaptor to RCA analogue adaptor kit for connecting older Scart equipment to a modern television that has HDMI connections on the back rather than scarts.

Please note that this kit does not connect to the HDMI connectors. It connects to the analogue port if fitted to your television.

The kit consists of a flat 3 way PRO AV RCA oxygen free cable with a switchable direction scart adaptor.

Most modern TV sets appear to only have HDMI connections on the back however if an analogue port is also fitted, sometimes on the side of the set, then this kit will connect to it. Normally the analogue port is labelled AV and will consist of Yellow, Red and White phono / RCA sockets although different colours may be used.

The connection method is to set the supplied scart adaptor to OUT and use the yellow (video), white (audio left) and red (audio right) pins to connect from your VCR or DVD player to the same coloured sockets on the TV.

The colour combinations on the 3 way oxygen free RCA cable supplied are Red, Green and Blue. As long as you ensure that you connect video to video , left audio to left audio and right audio to right audio then it makes no difference what colours that you use.

It is recommended to follow the images and connect the cable to the scart adaptor as follows:

  • Green on the Cable to Yellow on the Scart Adaptor
  • Blue on the Cable to White on the Scart Adaptor
  • Red on the Cable to Red on the Scart Adaptor
Use the same connection procedure for the RCA sockets on the television.

Other connection possibilities exist such as using the scart adaptor in input mode and connecting a CCTV camera or camcorder to your VCR or DVD recorder scart input.

The flat construction of the cable can help where the cable needs to fit through tight gaps in AV cabinets and furniture.

Let's look at the cable make up in more detail:

  • Number of Cores: 3
  • Cable Type: 3 Way Flat
  • Core Diameters: 4mm
  • Cable Gender: All Cores Have Male to Male Plugs
  • Cable Overall Width: 20mm
  • 1 x 1.5m Composite Video - Green
  • 1 x 1.5m Left Analogue Audio - Blue
  • 1 x 1.5m Right Analogue Audio - Red
