Description
Magnetron
type 2M240H for microwave ovens. This Toshiba magnetron is a suitable
replacement type for many brands of oven.
This particular magnetron is
classed as in line version which means that the mounting lugs are in
line with the airflow through the cooling vents. This is a common
mounting arrangement in many ovens.
The
magnetron in question is a high quality type manufactured by Toshiba. It
does not have to be used in a Toshiba oven.
This magnetron is often found in Whirlpool, Hotpoint, Indesit, Brandt and Bauknecht models.
The Hotpoint part number is: C00320892
The Whirlpool part number is: 481913158021
The Whirlpool model compatibility list is:
AVM600, AVM611, AVM626, AVM700,
AVM708, AVM730, AVM764, AVM900
If your defective magnetron
is an inline version then this magnetron should fit. Have a close look
at the photographs and the mounting lugs to determine this. Many of the
microwaves fitted to modern fitted kitchens use an inline magnetron like
this.
As
an example we have used this magnetron to replace the original type
used in Sharp and Whirlpool models. It is also used in many of the
imported ovens available just now. Basically as long as the magnetron
looks the same as your original it will work. Please refer to the
photographs.
The magnetron specifications are as follows:
- Magnetron type supplied: 2M240H(P)
- Manufactured by: Toshiba
- Fixing centres: 36mm x 112mm
- Mounting lug size: 12mm x 16mm
- Nominal power rating 850W
- Operational frequency: 2455MHz
As
mentioned previously this magnetron can be fitted to any brand of oven
with a defective magnetron that looks like this one. Check the air flow
direction and orientation of the lugs before ordering. You can fit this
magnetron to any oven with a power rating up to around 1000W. The
nominal power level of this magnetron is 850W but it is common practice
by manufacturers to operate a magnetron at the upper end or slightly
higher end of its specification. In practice this is not an issue as
microwave ovens are most commonly used for short periods of time.
If
you purchase this item for replacement in your microwave then we
recommend that you do this only if you are qualified and aware of the
dangers of tampering with electrical equipment.
